Freezed through the weekend :)

Well Friends, one of the most exciting and adventurous trip unfolds through this blog :)

The plan was this : Two cars taking ten people will leave by 5pm Friday evening for Bear Vally, which is around 350 miles from LA.Reach there by night,next morning (Sat)will go for skiing . Then have a good sleep and move for snow mobiling on Sunday. Monday was the return day travelling thru scenic Yosemite route.

Now wat all happened read below..It was full of new surprises and drastic plan changes :)

Friday evening..it was 6pm.. then 7 pm..we are still in LA. evryone is busy doing some work...some stuck in office...some at home packing..some went for shopping...its 8 pm now. where the hell is evryone?? Finally around 8pm we all met at our building parking. The count was now 11 ppl instead of ten. Now US laws cant jbe broken..and we cant leave anyone behind too...so had no choice, the car was already rented. So all the girls except one sequeezed in one car ( poor driver of the car..one soul among 5 girls ) and the guys in the other car...We all set to leave by 9 pm. One car is on its way, but our car still needs gas n tyre check...n we were hungry too...in the end we were moving towards Bear valley around 10 pm...5 hours late !! this was trip start....the joke was it was Friday the 13th so we couldnt blame anyone but the unlucky day :) ..:)....

Ok..the drive was smooth...some good nos. being played in the car...1 hr gone..2 hrs gone...3hrs gone...change of driver ....its like 12 in the nite...we were sleepy...but we kept awake ;)....

Now the fun part...its 3am ..we are nearing Arnold CA,..its snowing...n we realize..where is the car chain??? Cars with no chain on this slipery roads.hahaha...next major mistake :(...our Car was still better it was a SUV, u shuld see the other car it was like driving at a speed of 5 mile/hr or so..
They were ahead of us 2hrs...but we caught them...hehehe....

We are driving...its shit dark out side..not even a single person seen.. All white...evrything covered with snow...where is the home we were supposed to stay..no one knows :(..n top of that we all needed to go very urgently ( hope u know wher)..so first we parked the car n found one place to relieve rselves...my god tat was one freezing night.:)

The house hunt continues...n we came to know its down the slope some where....the slope all covered with snow..if the car goes..it will just slide down...
Just said ganapati bapa...n we drove...slow n steady...i cant imagine wat the driver must be thinking then..

We are down now...looking each house no. ..and then came the Bear Valley Chalet...but how to go inside..evrything is all snow...We stopped the car there and one of us went to the managers house to get the keys....

Finally after 2 hours or so the house key was with us....all really exhausted ..took the luggage inside the house. One car was parked on the streets and the other one in some market place..n we were cosy inside the beautiful house around 6 in the morning:)

The house was like a dreamland.....all the facilities available.cosy beds..kitchen all clean ....books to read..cds to see..a fireplace..just wat one can dream of...n when u look out of the window u see the white cotton like droplets from above....the pine trees all white n green.
We didnt waste any time and went off to sleep ..thinking to get up by 12 and move ahead with skiing.


Around 12pm....trinnggg alarm rings....i get up n see some of us already up n sitting with sad faces...i was like now wat??..."One car is towed away" tat is wat i hear...i was like friday the 13th is over no more surprises please :(...

Now we are 11 people and only one 5 seater car :)...

Best part..there is no AtnT network there...none of r cells working...haha....but thankfully verizon works n we have wireless connectivity....

We could figure out the towing agency...but they say since its n enterprise vehicle..we wont release until entrerprise calls n confirm....
Ok now getting thru the enterprise ..they say we are closed till monday morning..so in all we are one car less till monday...

R trip all seemed to go ruin..

The situation now is We are 11 ppl trapped in a house which has no connectivity with the outside world other than the wireless network...its snowing outside...the one car which we have doesnot have any tyre chains..so cant drive it....

But destiny had other plans....we got the neighbour of the house put the chains for the one car..That saturday we stayed home..n it was fun time...
Played in the snow....the snow fight was one memorable part....it was like a snow war :)..then the making of snow man ....shivering...hands freezing..foot all numb...but enthu still remained.

Night time it was all games time..cooking going on...We hogged like any thing...it was some good time spent together...we played some time pass games..shared some funny moments....there were some dance nos. also.....n the time passed by :)

Sunday morning..look outside the windows..n u will see its snowing...it was decided..six of us will move towards the the snow mobiling spot( with skiing plan all cancelled)..all ready..one car headed for some adventure..
5 of us at home waited for the car to be back to pick us up...this was also fun...We got all dressed and covered..we went out..it was a bad weather...snowing much heavier than the previous day...we moved on the streets..clicked n no. of pics.....it was fun...came back started a movie..changed it..started another..then another....the wait was getting longer...it was already 2pm and now there was no point going 20 miles up hill..n weather seemed to worsen too...
We did move though but..had to come back half way...so finally..that SUnday also half of us were at home njoing the snowfall and half doing snow mobiling...
That night phir se mehfil jami...sab ne gane bajane churu kar diye...it was all shor sharaba..n khana khana...:)

The final day...Monday morning we got the car..n i must tell u the towing agency charged freaking $495 for the car..this was the most expensive part of the trip...
ok..on MOnday half gang packed evrything and got ready to move towards LA..n half of us moved towards snow mobiling...we couldnt just miss it.

We had reached the spot...n see r stupidity..all were wearing jeans...ppl laughed seeing that...it was snowing n we wearing jeans...dont know wat would be r conditions after the ride....
Ok we got three scooters and 6 of us....big helmets on r heads...all set ..we started the scooters..n moved through the mountain trails...it was fun...its all white...we are moving dont know wher.. they gave us a map but because of the snow it got wet and we lost it...hands although wearing two gloves were still freezing....legs had lost sense...we were supposed to do it for n hour....each one of our vehicle got stuck at one point of time....some how managed to move ahead...
After the hour we headed back..but adventure still continues..we lost r way back...now no maps..no way..no ppl..no cell...n all freezing to death...

Some how moving here and ther..asking other vehicles..we reached back....After all clothes changed..u should see us shivering...there was no heater to warm...it was a shit experience......Finally we were ready to move r way back to LA.....

There was no Yosemite scenic ride...we were back to LA at Monday nite 12 o'clock....

My my...it was n experience of lifetime..there are many moments of the trip..but cant write evrything...it is truly unforgettable...the heights of the after effect is an orkut commnity created named "Tow" after this experince ...haha :)
